Bold PAC: Chairwoman Linda Sánchez Rallies Voters in NE-02 for Kamala Harris and Tony Vargas
On the eve of early voting in Nebraska, Sánchez Joins Reproductive Rights Tour and Labor Canvass Kickoff in this Swing District
Washington, D.C. - This past weekend, on the eve of early voting in Nebraska, CHC BOLD PAC Chairwoman Linda Sánchez traveled to Nebraska’s second congressional district to rally voters for Kamala Harris and congressional candidate Tony Vargas. She took part in two campaign events to rally support for working families and protect reproductive rights.
“As early voting kicks off, Nebraskans have the power to shape the future. Our choices in this election will define our rights, freedoms, and ability to provide for our families. Latinos will show up and vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Tony Vargas, who will make history as the first Latino to represent Nebraska in Congress,” said Chairwoman Linda Sánchez. “Democrats like Kamala and Tony stand united in the fight for labor and reproductive justice, and we won’t back down.”
NE-02 is critical for Democrats’ path to taking back the House. The Cook Political Report rates this district as a “Toss up”, one of only 15 races across the country in this category, demonstrating the strength of the Vargas campaign. But the significance of NE-02 stretches beyond the House, as this district has the potential to shape the Presidential election as well. Nebraska does not award electoral college votes statewide, but rather by congressional district. NE-02 holds a single electoral college vote, which President Biden won in 2020. Once again, NE-02 voters will have the chance to shape the future of both Congress and the White House.
Sánchez’s weekend in Nebraska was marked by two key events that energized voters and highlighted the Democratic Party’s commitment to families in the Midwest:
- IBEW Labor Canvass Kickoff with Tony Vargas: As the first woman IBEW member elected to Congress, Chairwoman Sánchez stood alongside Nebraska congressional candidate Tony Vargas, one of BOLD PAC’s endorsed candidates and a top pick-up opportunity for House Democrats this cycle. If elected, Vargas will be the first Latino to represent Nebraska in Congress. This event highlighted Democrats’ commitment to the labor movement and the fight for working-class families.
